OVERVIEW
Susan is an established and respected specialist criminal barrister with a wealth of experience in conducting trials in the Crown Court. She has prosecuted as leading junior in complex and multi-handed cases involving historic sexual allegations cases, as well as in substantial drug conspiracies. She is also instructed by the Specialist Fraud Division of the Crown Prosecution Service to handle cases involving white collar fraud.
Susan is regularly instructed to defend in complex cases of all types. This has included, in more recent times, a lengthy trial in a historic miscarriage of justice case involving allegations against police officers relating to the investigation into the murder of Lynette White.
Many of the cases in which she is instructed and conducts trials involve serious sexual allegations of every type, whether historic or recent, and they often involve young and vulnerable witnesses. Susan is well qualified to handle these, as well as all other challenging situations in a Crown Court trial.
She is recognised for her client handling skills, as well as her ability to pay attention to details and the meticulous preparation of her cases. She has been identified as a ‘safe pair of hands’ in the Legal 500, where she has featured year on year.
Susan is highly regarded as a skilful and persuasive advocate.
