Prior to joining chambers, Bethan worked for 10 years within the Crown Prosecution Service. Having completed pupillage in 2013, Bethan went on to undertake a range of roles within the organisation. This included as a Crown Advocate and as a Senior Crown Prosecutor, focusing particularly on charging decision and the preparation of RASSO cases. The work within the RASSO involved a focus on the importance of third-party disclosure within criminal investigations.

Bethan also worked as a District Crown Prosecutor within the Crown Prosecution Service, having responsibility for the work of the prosecutors within the Crown Court Team as well the RASSO team thereafter.  
Bethan is a grade 3 prosecutor and regularly prosecutes and defends in the Crown Court.

Prosecuted a trial involving non-fatal strangulation, securing a conviction in a count which was a victimless prosecution.

 

DRUGS OFFENCES

R v M, Cardiff Crown Court (2023)

Prosecuted a trial involving allegations of importation of GBL. Case involved evidence from border force workers, financial data, text messages and correspondence with companies based within the EU to import the drug.

 

R v B, Newport Crown Court (2023)

Prosecuted a trial involving supply of cocaine and heroin. Case involved expert evidence from drug expert and analysis of mobile telephone evidence.
