Overview

Nik was called to the Bar in 2014 and joined Chambers in 2017 upon the successful completion of his pupillage during which he was supervised by John Ryan.

Prior to commencing pupillage Nik studied history and German at King’s College London obtaining a first class degree with honours. Following this he volunteered at two Human Rights Organisations. Firstly, at The Society of Threatened People based in Göttingen in Germany. The Society campaigns with and on behalf of persecuted ethnic and religious minorities, nationalities and indigenous peoples to ensure they have a voice and their rights are respected. He also worked for Kituo Cha Sheria in Nairobi, Kenya, which aims to empower the poor and marginalised people to effectively access justice and to realise their Human Rights. He then completed the GDL and BPTC at Cardiff law school, obtaining a Distinction and Outstanding respectively.

Nik’s areas of practice include prosecuting on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service in a wide range of cases in the Magistrates, Youth and Crown Courts. He is a CPS Grade 1 prosecutor and also undertakes work for Local Authorities.

He appears on behalf of clients who are charged with a range of criminal offences, both in the Crown Court and the Magistrates Courts. He conducts hearings before disciplinary tribunals/regulatory committees such as the Health and Care Professions Council and the Licencing Committee of Cardiff Council.
